The New President Lies And Lies Again to the American People

At Thursday’s disastrous so-called press conference, the President of the United States continued to spew vitriolic accusations, alternative truth facts, and outright lies to the American people. CNBC posted the complete transcript of 45’s distorted version of reality. One of the many lies the new president told Thursday, included the claim that he “inherited a mess … at home and abroad” when he took control of the US government. And he was serious.

As you know, our administration inherited many problems across government and across the economy. To be honest, I inherited a mess. A mess. At home, and abroad. A mess. Jobs are pouring out of the country. You see what’s going on with all of the companies leaving our country, going to Mexico and other places. Low pay, low wages.

This is the bleak narrative the Republicans have peddled for eight years now. The new president worked it to perfection for his adoring crowds of poorly educated supporters during the campaign. Regardless of truth or fact, millions of Americans believe this regardless of evidence to the contrary.

Evidence contradicts the Republican dark vision of America

In September of last year, two months before the election, Richard J. Carroll, an expert in presidential economics and author of several books, compared Obama’s economic legacy to other post-WWII presidents. Writing for Bloomberg, Carroll reports that Obama’s economic legacy is on the plus side of the data. Carroll found that Obama held his own and had an overall positive impact on the economics of our nation.

Obama comes in eighth out of the 12, but still records a positive score, indicating a roughly average performance. That is based on six full years of his record, from 2010 to 2016.

Carroll went on to say this:

That is not a stunning performance, but it is a major improvement over that of his predecessor, George W. Bush, whose economic score was significantly lower than even Jimmy Carter’s. Rest assured, in this analysis a president’s score takes into account what he inherited and what he left behind. That’s one reality that both benefited and hampered Ronald Reagan’s and Obama’s scores.

Here we have a scholarly scientific analysis from a conservative publication that contradicts today’s comments by POTUS 45. At worse, the Obama economy is average. The truth is, Obama put America on solid economic footing after pulling the country out of the Republican disaster of George W. Bush. Could he have done better? Hell yes, he could have. Too bad the Republicans sold their collective souls to Satan in an effort to bring down the uppity black man occupying the White House.

Republicans blocked all Democratic proposals to help American workers.

Time after time, Obama and the Democrats offered legislation to create jobs or save existing jobs of police officers or firefighters and other first responders. Republicans in Congress blocked these efforts. In March of 2015, The Fiscal Times reported Republicans in the Senate blocking such a bill.

In July 2014, the Senate blocked another jobs bills. The bill would have required American companies that ship jobs overseas to pay a penalty. The Republicans argued for tax cuts for business according to the website, The Hill. There were several other attempts by Obama and the Democrats to help the American worker and family, but it seems Republicans only want to protect millionaires and billionaires from undue hardships.

The economy is not working for all Americans as President Obama desired. There is still too much inequality, too little reward for the common worker, and not enough hope that this will change. But the America Obama handed off to 45 is in every way a stronger and more secure nation than what Obama inherited in 2009.

The list of President Obama’s accomplishments is impressive.

Inside has a link to Obama’s many accomplishments for the American people. And it must be remembered Obama faced constant obstruction from a Congress that bordered on treason at times. For this administration to deny the good things Barack Obama did in his two terms while implying that America is not better off than we were before January 2009 is nuts.

The new president is failing on the biggest stage under the hottest lights.

This president believes he has won the biggest reality show on Earth. In a way he is right. He is now under the brightest spotlight on the biggest stage on the planet. And he sucks at it. The first month of this administration is a disaster at best. There is no telling how badly it may end.

Occupying the Oval Office is not like having the corner office at Trump, Inc. It is abundantly clear now that the 45th President of the United States is wholly unqualified for the office. 45 and his cadre of incompetents lack both the intellectual and the moral capacities necessary for the responsibilities they are entrusted with.

Over two centuries ago, a band of radical thinkers decided to denounce the idea that being born to wealth and privilege entitled a person to rule over their fellow humans. Our Founders pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor as they fought to establish a nation ruled by laws. Laws that applied equally to everyone. The President of the United States can not stand before the cameras and in front of the American people and lie with impunity.

The American people refused to tolerate lying, bullying of the press, and the intimation of the judicial system from Richard Nixon. His refusal to embrace the truth ended his presidency. 45 does not possess the political savvy of a Richard Nixon. It seems it is only a matter of time before this administration implodes in spectacular fashion. We never figured we see a POTUS make Nixon look great again.
